Downey Studios

In March 2004, IRG purchased the 80-acre, former NASA aerospace design and manufacturing complex located in Downey, CA.  The site has been home to numerous ground-breaking and record-shattering innovations, including the Navaho Missile Project, the Apollo Spacecraft Development program, and the Space Shuttle.  After being selected the master developer, IRG turned the facility into the largest independent film facility in Los Angeles with the largest sound stage in Greater Los Angeles.

IRG has brought new infrastructure to the site and is spending millions of dollars to create a successful film studio and world-class business facility.  These upgrades include data, voice, and electric upgrades; environmental remediation; demolition; landscaping; and security and entry features.  IRG recently completed the renovation of a historic 50,000 sq. ft. office building utilizing State Historic Preservation guidelines turning the building into state-of-the-art production offices.

At build-out, the project is expected to include over two million sq. ft. of studio space, offices, restaurants, and retail space.
