Jay Heckenlively joined IRG in 1998. 

After graduating from law school, Mr. Heckenlively accepted an associate attorney position with the commercial real estate law firm of Trainor Robertson, the largest commercial real estate firm in Sacramento and the Central Valley region.  During his tenure at Trainor Robertson, Mr. Heckenlively specialized in the structuring of complex commercial real estate purchase and sale transactions, leasing, joint venture formation, and loan transactions.  A representative list of Mr. Heckenlively’s clients include U.S. Bancorp, Panattoni Development Corporation, Westfield Development, Beazer Home Corporation, Cresleigh Homes Corporation, and Stanford Ranch. 

In August of 1999, through his 10-year representation of Stanford Ranch, a venture formed by Morgan Stanley Real Estate Group, Mr. Heckenlively was appointed the transactional outside legal counsel for McClellan Park, representing the venture of all facets of leasing and operational matters associated with the ten million square feet of existing facilities on approximately 4,000 acres of land. 

In November of 2000, Mr. Heckenlively accepted the position of General Counsel for McClellan Business Park and in that role was instrumental in completing the master purchase and sale transaction to acquire McClellan Air Force Base in November of 2001.  To date, on behalf of the venture, he has finalized the leasing of more than 4,000,000 square feet of space within McClellan Park and is intricately involved in the structuring and negotiation of the venture’s continuing business and real estate affairs.

Mr. Heckenlively earned a BS from St. Mary’s College in 1982 and a Juris Doctor from the University of the Pacific’s McGeorge School of Law in 1988.  Mr. Heckenlively also has an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
